I made this tamale β€˜masa’ yesterday with only oat flour and added 1 whole egg for every 2 batches (I made two double batches). I wanted to let you know they came out amazing! There were 7 people at the party and only 3 of us are familiar with FMD, but the other 4 people also thought they were the best tamales and some of them even liked the flavor/texture better than regular corn masa. Thanks for your help and for this great recipe!

I am planning to make them for a friend’s birthday on Tuesday. She is just finishing the 10 cleanse (FMD) and I think I can make them work for her meal map. However, I can’t find chickpea flour anywhere and don’t have time to order. Do you think I should just use more oat flour or perhaps almond flour or coconut flour?

I don’t want to buy corn to throw the cob out to use the leaf (plus it is out of season and stupid expensive).

If you do not have it, you can use a regular pot and a metal strainer. And cover it with the lid. 😊
